The Welcome Wagon is a fantastic band. I’m excited about doing a Haiti benefit/concert/book event with them tonight in Philadelphia. Details of where and when and how below (and only $10; c’mon!).
Vito (who with his wife Monique are The Welcome Wagon) and I attended seminary together. We were friends and played on a championship basketball team together. Okay, the team was called “Discoteque” and we were champions of the Princeton Theological Seminary intramural league, so take that for what it’s worth.
Anyways, sometime last year I sent Vito a copy of my new book “After Shock” and Vito sent me a copy of their album. Their music is beautiful; been listening to the album a lot during the past months. Eventually this event came together. If you’re in the area, hope to see you tonight. Should be fun and meaningful.
